Half-Pint Prints Winter 2009-2010

Well, where to begin?  For starters, halfpintprints.com is now stephenskoutas.com, and that is the website of the newly launched Stephen Skoutas Photography.  Over the next year, we're going to put more emphasis on building this business, and a concerted effort into bringing the highest quality photography and prints that we can to our family, friends, and clients.  I'd like to thank Jody for the encouragement and support to help me make this decision.  This business will remain a part-time endeavor.

That said, I would appreciate your input, your referrals, and your kind words if you know people that are looking for a photographer, particularly a portrait / event photographer.  The business phone is (401) 227-0123 should you need to share it with someone who might want my services.  I thank you.

There have been a ton of under-the-hood changes to the website, so if you find anything that doesn't work as it should, please let me know.  I'm still coding parts of the site, but incomplete sections are quite obvious.

This update is long overdue.  Our last password change was summer '09.  Check your email for the new password.  It has been sent out by bulk email today.  If you didn't receive it, send me a message.

Please also remember that you can find me on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/sskoutas) or Twitter? http://twitter.com/sskoutas.

There is a ton of new content on the site.  Here are some of the highlights:
  • As always, new images of Emily, Zack, and Zoey continue to be posted with regularity.
  • Speaking of Emily, she has her own Fisher Price digital camera now, and here is a gallery of her work (link)
  • The Little Gym (link)
  • Mystic Aquarium with cool Katz (link)
  • Haley's 4th (link)
  • Becky & Sarah's birthday (link)
  • Rachel's 3rd (link)
  • Kid's and Toddler's Track & Field (link)
  • Davis Farmland (link)
  • Andrew's Birthday (link)
  • Hope's Birthday (link)
  • the Trazi Harvest Party (link)
  • Lalloween (link)
  • Trunk-or-Treat (link)
  • Mikie's 4th (link)
  • Emmy's 4th (link)
  • a bunch of family studio shoots for the Holidays (category link here, select individual galleries within)
  • Paul's photo shoot at the park (link)
  • A pass-the-camera series of snapshots from Blake's Tavern (many of these images are not taken by me... everyone took pictures.  link)
  • video - Zack sings about some dude named "Santa." (link)
  • video - Zoey learns to crawl (link)
  • as always, there are scattered additions thoughout the site, particularly in "the family album"
All major content updates are posted at the blog (http://blog.stephenskoutas.com/) and each blog entry contains a link to the related gallery. The easiest way to track the updates is by subscribing to the blog RSS feed at the top of any blog page (the subscribe button) or clicking here.

Lastly, and as always:
  • If you don’t want to be on this distribution list, email me and you will be removed.
  • If you have pictures up here that you don’t want up here, tell me and they will be removed.
  • If you have any password concerns with your images, let me know.
  • If you want a gallery password protected that isn’t, let me know.
  • If you know someone would want to be added, tell them to email me.
  • Feel free to share gallery access with others that might be interested.

Half-Pint Prints Spring 2009 Update

Must be spring, right? We only got a foot of snow this week!

Anyway, here is the update for Spring 2009. Our site is now supported by two professional-level print labs. This is a recent change, and the quality is excellent. I've ordered a few prints of our kids two weeks ago and I love the results. The new "metallic" prints are very cool indeed, and unlike any print I've ever seen. Our site also now supports true hi-def video, but I honestly haven't uploaded anything yet to take advantage of it. Oh, we've got a new logo too.

You may also notice images are watermarked now. That copyright notice will not appear on any prints that you order.

The new password has been sent out to everyone by email. If you did not receive it, let me know and I'll get it to you.

Enough of the housekeeping notices. This is a larger-than-usual update with over 1,200 new pictures added since winter:
Weddings:
  • Cindy Lou and Rob
  • Jerry and Donna
  • Marla and Josh

Friends
  • Fireman Mikie's archives (these are not my pictures)
  • Andrew's Birthday, Hope's Birthday, & Trazi's Harvest Party

Family
  • lots of new pictures of Emily, Zachary, and Skooter III
  • a great trip to Los Angeles to celebrate Grandpa Mike's 70th Birthday
  • Zachary's 1st Birthday
  • Addison's Christening
  • Some new additions to "The Old Shoebox" including some horrific pictures from my elementary school.
  • Day-trips to Six Flags, Davis Farm, Disney on Ice, and the Brooklyn Fair

The easiest way to track the updates is by following the blog. You can subscribe to the blog feed at the bottom of any blog page.

Half-Pint Prints Holiday '08 update - December 12, 2008.

Happy Holidays, everyone. Time to change the password for Half-Pint. I sent it out in a bulk email earlier today. If you didn't receive it, please send me an email and I'll get it to you. The email link is at the top of each Half-Pint page.

The photographic additions to Half-Pint since the last email are:
  • Daniel's Birthday (link)
  • Aaron's Birthday (link)
  • a trip to New Jersey (I actually hung out with Giants fans...link)
  • Marla and Joshua's wedding (link)
  • Michael's Baptism (link)
  • a few pictures from Disneyland (these are not my images... they were taken by the Disneyland Staff Pros.)
  • and of course, pictures of our adorable little kids - here, here, and our expected third here
I am still way behind, and will be adding pictures from Legoland, Disneyland, Grandpa's 70th, Halloween, Zack's Birthday, Andrew's Birthday, Six Flags, and Addison's Christening. Subscribe if you want to know when things get added (see below for details)
The technical changes for Half-Pint are:
  • The Blog. Though mentioned last time, bugs are now ironed out and I'm posting as frequently as necessary. It is a good place to get updates about new gallery additions. It is at blog.halfpintprints.com
  • Google Earth. I have a small number of photos up now on Google Earth. If you are interested, follow this link: http://www.panoramio.com/kml/?user=1847300. It will ask you what to do with the file:
Select "Open with," click "Browse" and select Google Earth from the list. Google Earth will launch and you will see "sskoutas photos" in your "places" window on the left of the Google Earth Screen. 5 images should be available. More to come. Don't have Google Earth? Shame on you. It is very cool. Get it here.
  • Google Friend Connect. This is an experimental addition to Half-Pint that may or may not last. Try it out. Let me know what you think. It is on the right hand side of the blog pages.
  • RSS / Atom subscriptions. At the bottom of the homepage, you will find an icon for available feeds. Click on it if you wish to subscribe to the gallery update feed. The downside is it will not give you updates for password-protected images. A better option may be to subscribe to the blog. Click here if you would like to do that, or find the ATOM link at the bottom of the blog page.

As always:

  • If you don’t want to be on this distribution list, email me and you will be removed.
  • If you have pictures up here that you don’t want up here, tell me and they will be removed.
  • If you have any password concerns with your images, let me know.
  • If you want a gallery password protected that isn’t, let me know.
  • If you know someone would want to be added, tell them to email me.
  • Feel free to share gallery access with others that might be interested.
  • Contributions for “The Old Shoebox” and “Photographs and Memories” nostalgia galleries always welcome.
Be happy and be well, and please enjoy your holidays!

Half-Pint Prints Autumn '08 update

If you're here because you received an email-change password from me, read on. If you need the password, email me (the link can be found at the top of my home page)

If you're on facebook or twitter, let me know if you would be so kind. Thank you.

The last email was June 12, 2008, so the updates for Autumn '08 include:

Technical changes to the site include the addition of this blog, which is still in its infancy, and improvements to video (I've got a bunch of footage to process and post, hopefully soon). Feel free to leave comments here or in the guestbook.

I am obviously falling behind on photo processing and will do the best I can to catch up soon. Next on deck is Daniel's birthday, then Aaron's, a visit to New Jersey, lil' Jake's Baptism, Six Flags, Davis Farm, Small Town Fairs, Andrew's Birthday, Addison's Christening, Zack's Birthday, and so much more.

If you've got nothing to do, see if you can find a few of my pictures on Google Earth. Cool Beans, I say.

Yes, it was a busy and fantastic summer. Hope yours was too.
